Andharban Jungle Trek in Monsoon near Mumbai Pune
This is a simple but hectic trail of 14 kilometers passing through dense forest on the edge of valleys of Tamhini ghat. Andharban, by its name, means a dark dense forest. It is a descend trek, where you are already on height and you will descending till the end. It is one of the most beautiful treks and lots of things to explore. The start point of this trek is Pimpri dam begins in bright daylight which keeps on fluctuating as we keep entering the dense part of the forest and out, this only adds up to the magic that this place has to offer. In this trek, it takes around 4 hours to descend. Enroute enjoy the waterfalls and awesome views of Kundalika valley. Here, we will be descending from Pune to Konkan. The trek ends at the Bhira dam which is the source of the Kundalika river. Kundalika river is known for White Water Rafting.
Suggestions: The trail is one way, so be ready to walk till the end. Start early so you can exit the trail before its too dark. Ask for a local guide.
